The OPA! Way® is a new approach to "Living & Working with Meaning" that is uniquely inspired by and based on Greek culture.

Although much focus has been placed on the economic crisis throughout the world, the real crisis is the Crisis of Meaning. As leaders of the Meaning Movement, people have been sharing with us that they feel a lack of Meaning in both their personal and work lives. More and more people are seeking authentic connections with others, deeper purpose in their lives, and increased resilience to thrive in a world full of chaos and change. 

As Greece is the land of philosophers, it seemed natural to visit it to seek wisdom about "Living & Working with Meaning." It also seemed natural to visit Greece since the nation is undergoing tremendous changes right now—economically, socially, politically, and psychologically. If we could learn how the Greeks are persevering and finding meaning in the chaos, then we could share their lessons with those around the world who are facing similar challenges.

As Socrates taught us 2,500 years ago, "the unexamined life is not worth living." While in Greece, we had an OPA! moment—we realized that the timeless wisdom of the ancient Greek philosophers, the traditional values and lifestyles of the indigenous Greek villagers, and the resourcefulness/resilience of the Greek people facing the current Crisis had much to teach us about asking the deeper questions and understanding the deeper reasons behind the decisions we make in both our personal and work lives.

Many people can identify the lack of Meaning in their personal lives, as well as the lack of Meaning in their workplaces (including the lack of Meaning in their brands, products, and services). But few can identify the root causes of this lack of Meaning and, better yet, identify what lifestyle or workstyle changes are needed to discover more Meaning.
